    The Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) is one of the nation’s most dynamic and successful local land trusts, and over its 33-year history has protected more than 70,000 acres of open space along the Skyline Ridge, the San Francisco Peninsula, the Santa Cruz Mountain range and along the San Mateo County coast.

    We are seeking an energetic team player support of POST’s Advancement team. Below are the essential duties, required knowledge, skills and physical abilities:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Provides general administrative support to the Advancement team, assisting with acknowledgement letters, major gift solicitations, donor database updates, and organization of donor files.
    • Provides support for board meetings, including creating advancement presentations.
    • Assists with donor cultivation and thank you events.
    • Maintains calendar of events, takes meeting minutes, and assists with donor mailings.
    • Provides backup for the gift entry process including logging gifts into the donor database.
    • Performs other general office duties as required.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple tasks.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Special event experience a plus.
    • Experience with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other database programs.
    • Able to work well with others and to work under pressure in a professional manner.
    • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • College degree.
    • Valid California Driver’s License.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
    • Must be able to hike rough terrain.
    • This position requires limited evening and weekend work.
