Atherton family seeking part-time nanny (atherton)

  • Our family is looking for a live-in or live-out nanny and household manager to work with us on weekday evenings and weekends. We have three children (ages four, two and one) and both parents work full-time with occasional travel. The position would be primarily focused on taking care of the children but would also involve light housekeeping (dishes, laundry, picking up) and cooking (primarily preparing meals for the children).

    We have a live-out nanny who has been working with our family for a couple of years and takes care of the children during the day. We are looking for someone who can work with us primarily in the late afternoons and evenings after our live-out nanny departs and also on the weekends. The weekday schedule would be very regular — the weekend schedule can be very flexible. We would also occasionally need overnight or early morning assistance. We have a separate guest house and believe that having someone live-in with us would be the most practical given the nature of the position, but we are open to considering live-out candidates who are highly dependable and reliable.

    We are interested in meeting people with an energetic passion for teaching, playing with and caring for children as well as a mature, confident and relaxed personality that would fit in well as a part of our family. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with the following characteristics:

    • Experience with toddler and preschool age children
    • Strong educational background
    • Excellent personal and professional references
    • Eager to make a long-term commitment and develop a lasting relationship
    • Good driving record
    • Nutrition / cooking background helpful but not necessary

    Compensation will be highly competitive with similar positions.
