About the Job
The Business Analyst works in a small global IT team, but reports directly to the Sr. Director of IT at Nexant. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team comfortably. This is a unique opportunity to not only monitor and ensure the processes are adhered to, but also be part of the team that defines and implements them.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Business Analyst – BA is often the first ambassador of IT to Nexant’s internal Business Units, Auditors, Vendors, and occasionally the End-Customers. Qualified applicants must have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational abilities with an attention to details. This role is primarily a Business Process Analyst, who is responsible for synthesizing the written and verbal knowledge of the business users and technical teams in order to form an accurate model of the Business Systems. Deep understanding of our IT’s roadmap and strategy is a necessity and will be coached. The successful candidate will be influential in the revisions to our strategy. BA is also responsible for producing and maintaining project documentation, including meeting minutes, business rules, flowcharts, business and technical requirements. A strong hands-on knowledge and understanding of our Business Application Systems is of course the starting point and a prerequisite.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Financial Systems and environment such as such as ERP, CRM, BI, DMS, Content Mng * 4 years or more.
- Experience with formal Project management methodologies and tools. E.g. Prince II or Agile.
- Knowledge of the Federal government education environment is an advantage.
- Experience with formal Development methodologies such as SDLC.
- Knowledge/experience working on some the Governance and regulatory requirements is a distinct advantage. (e.g. SOX404, SAS70, ISAE 3402, SSAE 16)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend database methodologies
- Familiarity with Application Support for Consulting and/or Software Development is also an advantage.
