United Way of the Bay Area seeks a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to help us raise money for Bay Area causes by supporting workplace fundraising activities and volunteers.
The Campaign Administrative Assistant is a temporary position that provides adminitrative support to professional and management staff in the Resource Development Department, such as heavy phone coverage, word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheet and PowerPoint creation, transcription, record keeping, filing and file management, and organization and workflow planning.
This is a support union position and it is full-time (37.5 hour work week) from August 2nd 2010 to November 1, 2010
(dates subject to change and could end earlier at the discretion of UWBA).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using various software packages. Assemble materials or reports for distribution.
• Coordinate and prepare for meetings with internal and external participants (package assembling, room reservation, etc.), record and draft minutes of account meetings and transcribe notes.
• Provide information about United Way of the Bay Area to callers and visitors that require mature judgment and a good knowledge and interpretation of matters related to the organization, as well as overall high level of customer service.
• Proofread word processed or printed work and check records and reports for grammatical construction, completeness, clerical, arithmetical, and accuracy.
• Organize and maintain files, and initiate follow-up procedures to ensure deadlines are met. Search records and provide factual data from information on file.
Requirements:
• Excellent at prioritizing, problem solving, organizing, multitasking, follow through, and meeting deadlines.
• A team player who possesses a “CAN DO” attitude and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of office procedures; excellent working knowledge of various software packages, i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports
• Skills to complete complex and routine administrative work effectively under pressure and with frequent interruptions; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Strong oral and written communicator, who is flexible and possesses the highest standards of customer service
