Job Description:

The CBS Interactive IT Operations group is looking for a full-time NOC Operations Specialist in its San Francisco, CA location.

This person will be a key member of the NOC team, responsible for monitoring and acting on alerts (automatic and requested) and trouble tickets for all CBS Interactive properties (for example: cbs.com cnet.com cbssports.com, etc.) The NOC works closely with the Systems Administration Team, as well as various development and production groups investigating, escalating, reporting, and tracking systems, networks, and application-related issues.

Strong documentation, communication and teamwork skills are a MUST. Schedule flexibility is also a requirement.

Qualifications:

-Associates Degree or equivalent industry experience
-Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalation in an enterprise or production class network.
-Strong communication skills
-Proficient at documenting processes, procedures, and systems (including interconnectivity)
-Motivated Positive Attitude
-Ability to multi-task working on many complex issues at once

Strong working knowledge of the following technologies and platforms:

• Linux and Apache
• MySQL experience
• DNS
• TCP/IP
• BASH scripting experience, other languages a big plus
• Sendmail & Postfix
• Linux Kickstart technologies

–Must successfully pass a background check
