Deputy Chief Fiscal Officer – HHSA (NAPA)

  • Position Description:
    Under general direction, The Deputy Chief Fiscal Officer of the Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) plans, coordinates, implements, and oversees assigned fiscal and budgetary services for HHSA. The position directs, coordinates, and monitors the work of assigned staff and performs a variety of professional, administrative, and programmatic work in support of assigned section and program areas including serving as a liaison to, coordinating with, and providing high level administrative support and staff assistance to County staff, boards, committees, and outside agencies.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

    * Extensive experience in preparing and monitoring large and complex budgets.
    * Detail oriented and an understanding of compliance issues as they relate to government fiscal management.
    * Knowledge of principles and practices of strategic budget planning and management.

    The following qualities are highly desired:
    * Experience in public sector fiscal or budget management, specifically in the area of Health & Human Services is highly desired.
    * Management and supervisory experience is highly desired.

    Experience and Education:

    Experience:
    Four years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience involving budget management, financial planning, and program analysis work including two years of related project management, administrative, and lead and/or supervisory responsibility in a human services, mental health, or social services agency.

    Education:
    A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
