Driver (financial district)

Works under direction of the supervisor to provide safe and reliable curb to curb pickup and delivery service to handicap consumers to and from their residence, day programs and medical appointments. Communicates and cooperates with family members, care providers and program staff to ensure consumers are safely transported. Prepares billing service logs for assigned route as required. Report any situation on or around the vehicle that falls outside the routine to the supervisor at the time of incident. Report the occurrence to the program staff person or person receiving the customer. Report any issues related to the routes schedule’s allotted travel time, route order, incorrect data, etc. to your supervisor. Complete a Vendor Incident Report and turn it in to the supervisor. Perform a pre-operation inspection and turn in a completed Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report to the Supervisor and Mechanic daily. Maintain a clean vehicle (sweep as needed). Maintain radio contact with supervisor. Good attendance. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug testing, medical exam, Driver Proficiency, Road Test Certification and background check.
Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or Equivalent. Minimum Experience Required: Three years driving with a Class B license. One year of experience working with people with disabilities is desirable but not required. Skills Required: Excellent verbal/written communication and decision making skills. Secure wheelchairs/scooters (four point). Operate mechanical lift.
