Position Title:
EMR Analyst @ HITCare

The growing HITCare team provides professional technology services to healthcare organizations throughout the country. HITCare is proud to support many of the largest EMR projects in California from our headquarters in Petaluma, CA.

This is a new position that will augment our existing team to support new and ongoing projects. The EMR Analyst position will be primarily responsible for leading projects and assisting clients to adopt electronic medical records.

**Prior healthcare experience is required**

Essential Functions and Specific Duties —————

Analysis
* Conduct observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for work-flow redesign.
* Review and coordinate improvement of quality measures and practice performance metrics including Meaningful Use measures.
* Generate assessment reports including detailed recommendations.

Project Management
* Assist clients to plan and manage tasks to support implementations and upgrades
* Lead project meetings
* Track tasks and maintain project materials

Training
* Develop and continuously update training materials for various training sessions (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, Helpful Hints, Frequently Asked Questions).
* Conduct classroom style training for users.
* Conduct one-on-one training sessions with users as needed.
* System Administration & Customization (Build)
* Maintain knowledge of HITCare’s standard configurations and clinic specific templates and customization.

Support
* Provide remote and onsite issue resolution support for practices.
* Provide user support for new practice implementations.
* Assist with coordinating requests by practices for system modifications and enhancements.
* Maintain an issue knowledge base to document specific training issues related to the application.
* Serve as internal resource to HITCare team for issue resolution.

Other
* Perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned.
* Document all activities in project management system

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ————-

* Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability.
* Exceptional communications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff.
* Conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles.
* Exceptional computer skills, particularly in all Microsoft Office software.
* Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours.

Healthcare Technology Specific Skills ————
* Ability to customize and configure EMR to support clinic work-flow and clinical best practices.
* Ability to evaluate and analyze EMR features and functionality for problem resolution.
* Ability to document clinic processes, work-flow design and identify areas for improvement.
* Knowledge of healthcare best practices related to patient flow and staffing roles.

Minimum Education & Qualifications ————-
BA/BS degree or equivalent healthcare education (RN, etc)
Five years of experience in a healthcare setting (clinical background preferred).
Three years of hands-on experience using or supporting EMR\EHR (eClinicalWorks or Nextgen experience preferred).

Job Conditions ————

* Position is based in Petaluma, CA when not at client sites.
* Frequent travel to customer sites primarily in Northern California with occasional out of town / overnight travel.
