    JOB DESCRIPTION / SUMMARY:
    -To present a positive and professional representation of the hotel to guests and clients, while responsible for attending to the needs of guests, especially during check-in and check-out, for guest satisfaction through telephone and personal interaction. The courtesy van driver is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and servicing of the hotel’s courtesy shuttle.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    - To manage guest check-in and check-out operations, answer telephones, take reservations, balance cash drawer, supply information. Work successfully within a team to meet hotel goals.
    - Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities.
    - Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (e.g. directions, places to eat, etc.).
    - Selling rooms to “walk-in” customers.
    - Entering/changing reservation information within the computer system.
    - Posting charges to guest accounts.
    - Processing payments from guests.
    - Making necessary corrections to guest accounts.
    - Coordinating with housekeeping department about room status/availability.
    - Listening for, and effectively responding to guest complaints.
    - Operating hotel switchboard or PBX.
    - Cleaning, organization, and upkeep of the front desk area.
    - Maintaining daily logs.
    - Balancing shift work and cash drawers.
    - Transporting guest(s) to / from nearby offices, and to other short distance locations (within 5 mile radius of property)
    - Assisting both arriving, and departing guests with their luggage.
    - Inspecting, cleaning, and servicing (e.g. oil, gas) the shuttle.
    - Maintaining mileage log book(s).
    - Running errands for the official business of hotel staff.
    - Delivering special request items to hotel guests, such as express mail, hair dryers, etc., and assisting houseperson(s) as needed.
    - Ensuring proper appearance of shuttle staging area, and adjacent parking area(s)

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    - Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    - Qualified applicants will be friendly, able to handle multiple tasks, dependable, flexible and detail oriented.
    -Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must.
    -Valid California driver’s license and some computer experience required.
    -Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
    -Previous hotel experience preferred.

    PLEASE NOTE: This is a Part-Time position, with the possibility of Full-Time employment. First Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate intimate knowledge of the Belmont / Redwood Shores area, and possess a strong background in customer service.
