    JOB TITLE: HIV PREVENTION SERVICES SUPERVISOR

    DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION (TRUCHA)

    CLASSIFICATION: REGULAR FULL TIME 100% (BASED ON A 40 HR WORK WEEK)

    REPORTS TO: COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION MANAGER

    STATUS: EXEMPT (NON-UNION POSITION)

    SALARY: DOE + FRINGE BENEFITS

    ABOUT THE POSITION: Under general supervision of the Community Health Education Manager, the individual in this position will be responsible for the programmatic and fiscal oversight of La Clinica HIV Prevention Services: Outreach, HIV Testing and Counseling, Prevention with Positives, etc., as well for the coordination of the agency HIV testing integration plan.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Requires a bachelor’s degree in health education, health sciences, behavioral sciences or related field.

    2. Minimum of five years experience providing direct HIV Prevention Services (including testing) to most HIV impacted populations: MSM, Women, Sex Workers, LGBTQ individuals, substance users, homeless, recent immigrants, people of color and youth.

    3. Minimum of three years experience supervising/coordinating HIV Prevention Services.

    4. Knowledge of CDC DEBI programs and evaluation requirements preferred.

    5. Knowledge of Harm Reduction principles and practices.

    6. Knowledge of Community Health Outreach principles and practices.

    7. Experience in HIV program design, implementation and evaluation.

    8. Excellent organizational, administrative, verbal and written skills.

    9. Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to work in a team setting and in coalition building.

    10. Must have flexible schedule to attend meetings and community events after regular business hours and on weekends when necessary.

    11. Sensitivity to people of different cultures and lifestyles, required.

    12. Sensitivity to, and knowledge of the clinical, psychological and social issues related to an HIV/AIDS program and its clients. Also, sensitivity to issues of confidentiality and anonymity.

    13. Administrative or coordination experience preferred, including maintaining filing systems, ordering materials and completing reports.

    14. Bilingual English/ Spanish required. Bi-cultural preferred.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Oversee all HIV prevention services, including staff supervision, program compliance and fiscal oversight.

    2. Coordinate agency HIV Testing Integration Plan.

    3. Provide training and evaluation of HIV test counselors at all sites.

    4. Coordinate the ALMAS program and supervise the ALMAS Care Manager, who links HIV+ Latinas to care services.

    5. Update, implement and uphold La Clinica’s policies and procedures and quality assurance efforts with regards to HIV services.

    6. Coordinate the review, development or maintenance of La Clinica’s HIV related health education materials.

    7. Facilitate La Clinica’s HIV Services Committee meeting, to address HIV program improvements and issues with different clinic departments.

    8. Participate in HIV advocacy at county-wide coalitions, meetings.

    9. Provide HIV prevention services (education, testing and counseling) as needed and if appropriate.

    10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
