    HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

    Summary:

    The Human Resources Generalist supports and contributes to Human Resources practices and objectives consistent with ERRG’s values of quality, service, and value. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing professional and administrative support, follow up, advice and counsel on company policies, procedures and documentation including coordinating the resolution of specific policy-related and/or procedural issues and inquiries.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    •Administer benefits including claims resolution. Conduct benefits orientations and explains benefits to employees. Reconcile benefit invoice discrepancies. Order benefits supplies. Respond to employee benefit inquiries.
    •Lead and coordinate the annual open enrollment efforts by and monitoring the distribution and receipt of open enrollment information and ensuring timely submission of enrollment applications to insurance carriers. Responsible for benefit reporting compliance such as FSA discrimination and SF Health Care Ordinance.
    •Manage and process leaves of absence requests, including FMLA, PDL, and personal leaves.
    •Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees on a range of employment issues including but not limited to performance management, leaves of absence, disability, respect in the workplace, compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations (e.g. AAPs, EEOC, ERISA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, workers and unemployment compensation programs, non-discrimination in hiring and promotion, etc.).
    •Administration of the performance review process. Track the completion of the 90-day introductory and annual performance evaluations.
    •Prepare annual merit increase change documents for approval; enter the changes in the HRIS system and employee files.
    •Maintain and ensure completeness of department, employee human resources and employee benefit files and records including entering status changes, terminations and salary increases into the HRIS/Payroll system.
    •Prepare termination paperwork and process in HRIS and paperwork including payroll and insurance carrier notifications. Conduct exit interviews, analyze and interpret data and provide recommendations for improvements.
    •Assist with the recruitment process by submitting background checks, scheduling pre-employment drug screens and physicals. Sends new employee notifications to Administration, IT and Accounting.
    •Maintain DMV Pull Notice Program.
    •Prepare and submit management reports, statistical summaries, surveys, government required reports and respond to requests for information. Complete the annual Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1 and Vets-100 reports.
    •May assist as a resource to employees and managers in discussing and resolving employment issues. May assist with internal investigations and provide objective feedback and recommendations to managers on human resources and employee relations issues.
    •Prepare and maintain company compensation guide and complete salary surveys.
    •Assist with updating and maintaining the employee handbook.
    •Perform specific research/investigation as requested.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    •High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    •5 years of related work experience.
    •Demonstrated knowledge and application of federal and state employment and benefit laws (e.g. FMLA, PDL, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, etc.).
    •Ability to analyze and interpret data, provide recommendations and resolve conflicts in a direct but positive manner.
    •Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate and work with all levels of employees either in one-on-one or group settings.
    •Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
    •Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
    •Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    •Experience using HRIS systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    •Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    •PHR certification.
    •Experience with Paylocity/Webpay.
    •Experience using Taleo Business edition.
    •Employee relations experience involving coaching and counseling employees and managers to resolve employment issues.
