Performing security posture analysis, implementing and monitoring security policies, assisting in the performance of risk and risk-tolerance assessment, identifying and submitting architectural and infrastructural recommendations as it pertains to security. Individual will engage in West Marine’s Technical Security analysis and discussions, make formal/informal recommendations to the AVP of Dept, and create project plants, monitoring activities and tools, and Security Reporting covering the following areas: GCC SOX compliance, CISP compliance and West Marine’s overall IT and Security Policies and Procedures. The individual must have a through understanding of the relevance and prioritization of security practices, network and system security analysis tools.
 

 
Within the area of Business Continuity, responsibilities include implementing and monitoring activities of the West Marine’s Business Continuity strategy and plan, performing business impact analysis, coordinating disaster recovery and readiness tests. Will work with Help Desk, IT and Network Operational Teams to formulate and implement incident response procedures and reporting.
 

 
Within the are of Audit Compliance, will be responsible for documenting and updating West Marine’s information systems, controls and assessing policies and practices for compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley 404, CSB1386, Visa CISP. Will work closely with legal accounting and Internal Audit Depts. Individual will interface with peers and senior management within all corporate and operational areas.
 

 
Qualifications
 

 
Required: B.S. in the areas of Computer Science, Psychology/Criminology or equivalent. Must be certified in CISSP, CISA OR CISM. Other technical certifications (CCSE, GSNA, etc) a plus. Detail-orientated highly analytical, excellent communication skills, ability to influence and reason with managers within other business areas.
