GreenBiz Group is a dynamic, fast-growing Oakland-based company looking to expand its content and management team.

GreenBiz Group’s mission is to define and accelerate the business of sustainability. We do this through our leading website GreenBiz.com; through our events like VERGE DC, March 14-16; through our research like the State of Green Business Report; and through the GreenBiz Executive Network, our member group for sustainability executives for Fortune 1000 companies.

We are looking for a managing editor to run our content group within GreenBiz.com, reporting to Executive Editor and GreenBiz Co-Founder Joel Makower. Ideal candidates should go well beyond traditional journalism and be steeped in the web, social media, events and video.

Key Qualifications:
* We’re looking for the unique combination of an experienced business journalist and editor
* Focus is on energy, environment, and technology issues related to business
* Familiarity with shooting and editing photos, video, and/or audio
* Editorial team building and management
*Knowledge of content management systems and html

Primary Responsibilities:
* Editorial strategy of GreenBiz.com and related sites and newsletters
* Daily management and support of small in-house team and extended editorial network
* Coordination with other GreenBiz Group business units to ensure integration, support various products and services, and build traffic
* Identify story ideas — companies, individuals, trends, products, etc.
* Continually improve and sharpen the quality of content to maintain and build on brand leadership and traffic goals
* Occasional panel-moderating and event-hosting duties
