Lex Machina, a leading patent litigation data company, has an immediate need for an experienced Patent Analyst specializing in Computer Science. We are hiring both in-house and remote contractors to work on a full-time or part-time basis on a short term project from:
February 13 – March 16, 2012.

Job Description
• Perform qualitative analysis on patents to determine which patents out of a set are related to distinct sub-fields of information retrieval.

Job Requirements
• Previous patent examining or patent searching experience preferred.
• At least a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related scientific field.
• In-depth knowledge of technical literature in the area of computer science.
• Demonstrate proficiency in conducting comprehensive and focused patent analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills are critical (for remote contractors, the ability to self-manage and meet a deadline).
• Flexible with excellent attention to detail.
