We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the biology team in our fast-paced start up company to help in developing therapeutic agents. Our company, located in the South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, is developing a novel drug discovery platform targeting validated human disease associated proteins. This position is temporary but has the potential to become a full time regular position at a future date for someone with strong entrepreneurial and research skills.

The successful candidate should have a range of skills sets in order to become a member of this collaborative research. He/She will play a key role in developing a cell-based assay for identifying new compounds for sickle cell anemia.

Requirements:
• B.S. degree in life sciences or related discipline and have completed multiple college-level lab courses
• A minimum of 2 years of biomedical research experience is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience or related lab course using qRT-PCR, FACS, ELISA
• Experience in stem cell biology and transcriptional regulation appreciated but not required
• Ability to design and implement experiments
• Ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary project teams
• Excellent computer, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
