We are looking for a senior mobile application engineer to lead the iPhone, iPad, Android, and other Smart Phone web application design, development and ongoing enhancements for an online, customer-facing sports wagering platform and live-video delivery as well as complementary consumer entertainment applications.

This position will be required to lead the technical direction and efforts of various web based mobile application architecture development and have a deep understanding of mobile device presentation frameworks and integration to back-end business services. This role will involve working with various technical and external vendor teams (onshore and offshore) to review designs and implementation efforts as well as working with members of the executive management team, customer support team, and the operations team. This position will be based in Mountain View, CA on Castro Street and may require minimal travel. Competitive base pay. Annual bonus for achieving business unit and individual objectives.

Responsibilities
• Evaluate front-end toolkits and technologies to drive the front-end web based mobile application architecture direction
• Design and participate in the development of the mobile web apps, and back end business services interaction protocols (e.g. web services) for main, consumer-facing products dedicated for mobile (iOS, Android and others) users.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to the engineering and vendor teams
• Set-up the frameworks for continuous quality and performance measurement and scale throughout the development cycle
• Assist in UI design through full lifecycle of projects from conception through rollout working with various functional groups like Product Management, Operations, Quality Assurance, Customer Support, etc.
• Create and maintain high quality architecture and design documents including feature specifications, design specifications, flow diagrams, site maps, and process diagrams
• Work closely with the Product teams to define the best user experience
• Enforce and augment development standards across the business unit
• Perform product evaluations and usability test from the engineering standpoint, communicate results and implications

Qualifications
• BS Computer Science or related degree
• 3+ years’ experience in design/architecture/developing web application targeting modern mobile platforms including iOS, Android and others. Concrete knowledge with best practices and principles of implementing and customizing UI components for mobile platforms.
• Significant experience in jQuery and jQuery Mobile
• In-depth knowledge of web technologies/techniques and browser specific implementations: XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, CSS, JSON and PHP. HTML 5 and CSS 5 are preferred.
• Experience with live/on-demand video streaming and location-based technology on mobile devices.
• Knowledge of LAMP stacks, Drupal CMS.
• Previous experience working in a model where some of the software development is outsourced to either onshore or offshore resources
• Experience with software development life cycle, and methodologies like agile and waterfall
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
• Experience working with vendors and leading offshore teams
• Experience in sports or gaming industry is a plus
