    As a UNIX Systems Admininstrator in the Technical Operations organization, the ideal candidate will join the team responsible for the entire management lifecycle of the systems and storage supporting the Salesforce.com on-demand CRM service.

    This includes, but is not limited to: system capacity (CPU/memory) planning, systems design and integration, hardware / software / OS maintenance for both servers and storage systems, ongoing systems configuration management, and ownership of all systems and storage in all data center facilities in which Technical Operations maintains a presence.

    Responsibilities:

      The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the Jigsaw production data center services including servers, operating systems, storage, and supporting systems.

    Duties:
    * Manage an international, 24-7/always-on, multi-site infrastructure.
    * Design, implement, and operate a scalable and reliable systems infrastructure supporting a fast growth hosted service.
    * Ensure proper security, monitoring, alerting, and reporting for the infrastructure.
    * Troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues.
    * Capacity planning for all aspects of the infrastructure.
    * Developing and maintaining processes, tools, and documentation in support of the production environment.
    * Participation in an on-call rotation.

    Required Skills/Experience:

      * Experience running medium to large scale (100+ servers) Linux/UNIX production environments, preferably as part of an online service provider environment.
      * Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX internals and core systems services (DNS, smtp, syslog, etc).
      * Hands on experience running SAN solutions.
      * Tools development: experience developing systems automation tools (using shell, PHP, Perl, etc).
      * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      * Minimum of 3 years administration experience with multiple versions of Linux/UNIX.
      * Must be strong with systems/configuration management (Puppet, CFEngine, etc.)

    Desired Skills:

      * Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems (nagios, cacti, etc).
      * Experience with MySQL, Java, Perl, or PHP.
      * IP network experience: significant experience with switching/routing/security/slb/gslb.
      * Familiarity with Netscaler systems.
      * Experience with VMware or XEN based virtualization.
