System Admin/ Lead Tech Support (Foster City)

  • A local Bay Area Information Technology outsourcing firm is looking for a Professional System Administrator who carries a mixture of Microsoft Certification (MCITP+) and Mac OS X certifications. If you are an IT professional with at least 4+ years’ experience in IT administration and have proficient knowledge in IT workflow and IT lifecycle management, then you are the one we’re looking for!

    Main Responsibilities:
    – Collaborate with a team of tech support personnel supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server 2003/2008 and SBS 2008-2011-based IT networks.
    – Work with Mac only environments – specifically with developers.
    - Troubleshoot VoIP related issues as they arise.
    – Manage daily IT tasks and follow up with engineering manager regarding daily tasks.
    – Assist in implementation and management of Exchange-based system infrastructures.
    – Knowledge of Cloud based Systems such as Collaboration/Business Social Networks/Managed Exchange environments.
    – Provide phone and onsite support to a variety of business network infrastructure.
    – Assist with new client network facilities projects and system audit projects.
    – Perform network troubleshooting, diagnose and resolve network problems.
    – Management and testing of new software and patches in Lab.
    – Responsible for setup of router, firewall, switch, network reporting, and network policies at different client sites.
    – Perform technology research in the field of networking as required.
    - Assist in creating an ongoing documentation of client network as it evolves.
    – Manage monitoring alerts to clients by keeping them informed of all updates and/or changes.
    - Recommend changes to policies and procedures pertaining to operation and design of network. Assist in maintaining current IT Standard Operating Procedures for clients.
    – Must have availability for after hour work to provide support, when and as needed.

    MAIN REQUIREMENTS:
    – MUST !! Customer service Extraordinaire with excellent phone skills.
    - MUST have excellent spoken and written communication skills.
    – Strong sense of professionalism and work ethics. Must be able to own a problem and take it to resolution.
    – Microsoft Certified System Professional (MCP), with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
    – Experience in planning, designing and implementing migrations to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 server, Active Directory, and Exchange 2010
    – Working experience in documenting and preparation of Disaster Recovery procedures.
    – Experience with Symantec Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions.
    – Working knowledge in managing Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Sonicwall), SSL VPNs and Site-to-Site VPNs.
    – Good background and understanding in telecommunications such as adding/relocating phone for end users.
    – Must be able to travel to Client Sites using reliable transportation. All travel expenses are reimbursable.

    EDUCATION:
    – BS/BA/MA, preferably in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
    - Minimum of 4+ years in IT experience and customer service.
    – Certifications (MCITP, ACSP) are highly desirable.

    DESIRED Requirements:
    – Working knowledge of ConnectWise Systems.
    – Additional Certifications, ACTC, CCNA.

    JOB INFORMATION:
