Energy Group Networks is looking for a skilled Sr. Technician to work as part of our 24/7 technical support team. Day to day duties will include monitoring and answering tickets in our ticket system, troubleshooting network and server problems both remotely and onsite inside local data centers, installation and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, setup and troubleshooting for streaming clients (Shoutcast and Windows Media), network health monitoring and managing backups and restores.
 

 
Required skills:

- Excellent communication in person, by phone, and via email
 
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
 
- Clear understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and Internet routing
 
- Good documentation and asset management skills
 
- Expert in Linux, configuration, security, tuning, and troubleshooting (CentOS / Redhat Variants)
 
- Windows OS installation, configuration, security, tuning, and troubleshooting (Windows 2003 / 2008 Server)
 
- Can configure routers and switches (BGP/OSPF/VLAN)
 
- Experience building and servicing servers and network gear.
 
- VMware vSphere / ESX Server administration
 
- SAN and iSCSI technologies (Openfiler)
 
- Willingness to learn and expand your knowledge of systems and software
 

 
Experience in the following software technologies and areas is a plus:
 

 
- Previous experience working in a data center environment
 
- Streaming server platforms (Shoutcast, Windows Media Server and Flash streaming)
 
- Cisco / Foundry networking
 
- Zabbix Monitoring System
 
- Symantec Backup Exec
 
- IPv6
